On the first day of our job-shadowing, we held a meeting with the Erasmus coordinator, Mrs Dora Glaraki, and we decided a change in the original programme. That change was for Friday.
On that day, joined a group of history teachers and students who were on a three-day-long school trip. We met them in Philippi (an archaeological site of Northern Greece), Kavala and Amphipolis. Although the weather wasn't good enough for a nice walk around the archaeological site, both students and teachers enjoyed an activity they had been preparing for a long time. In small groups, they explained the details they had learnt about this impressive place:

Philippi.

Philippi.
Students listening to their peers.

Students explaining their part in Philippi.
My colleagues Mª José and Marga
together with some Greek students.

In general, and although I first thought that I would just learn little from this activity, I must confess that I felt impresssed by the good behaviour of the students, their positive attitude towards the activity and their engagement. What's more, I took several ideas for students presentations in the English lesson: preparation in class and live presentation in a given landmark; relating language with history, literature and culture; taking out the theory we deal with in the classroom to the real world and put it into practice there...
